A gentle reset for your relationship with money

As the year comes to a close, I've been reflecting on how much emotion we carry into our finances - often without realising it.

Not just numbers. Not just budgets. But stories.

Stories we learned growing up. Stories from past mistakes. Stories shaped by fear, pressure, or guilt.

For many people, money becomes something to avoid... or obsess over... or something that quietly creates stress in the background of life.

I used to be one of those people.

I'd track every little purchase but ignore whether I was actually building towards anything meaningful.

I'd stress about market movements I couldn't control but never looked at the few numbers that would give me real clarity about my financial health.

That's why money felt overwhelming - even when I was earning well.

Here's what I learned: Real financial confidence doesn't start with investing tips or perfect budgets. It starts with tracking the right numbers, not just more numbers.

Most people obsess over:

  • Every tiny expense

  • Daily market movements

  • Someone else's definition of "success"

But they ignore the few key numbers that actually matter for their life and future.

To help you end this year with more clarity (and less money stress), I've created a short video "Track the Right Numbers" sharing:

  • 3 practical tips for tracking your personal finances without overwhelm

  • 3 common mistakes people make when tracking money - and what to focus on instead

One question to sit with

As this year closes:

What kind of relationship do you want to have with money next year?

More fear... or more trust? More avoidance... or more clarity?

You don't need all the answers today. Just the willingness to begin differently.

Best wishes for 2026! 🎉
